Aquaman
His power is made possible by his incredible radioactive liver, which
can shunt excess liquid into a pocket dimension. Makes him immune to
many poisons, plus he can take long trips without stopping. No one yet
knows exactly whether the liquid later reappears. May be possible for
him to breathe underwater with training.
Friendly Hulk
When angry, she can transform into one of many creatures, including the
Eppogryph, a fiendish beast with the body of a lion but the face and root
access of Peter Van Epp. The full extent of her abilities is not yet
classified, nor is it known whether she will eventually be able to invoke
her powers at will (or stop them, for that matter!).
Sonic Blaster
Derives power from amplifying seismic vibrations (this means his power
doesn't work in the air, unless he is on his KatAna, which has another
independent power source). Over time, may develop a wider range of
sonic abilities, like stereo! ;)
Metallica Maiden
Metallica t-shirts have various properties. One has a Metallica logo so
reflective it can blind enemies. Has learned to change t-shirts in the
blink of an eye. Metallicar has every one of their CD's available and can
insert subliminal messages (this feature has not been implemented--yet).
Also has an extensive background in philosophy, which comes in handy, umm,
well, sometimes. :))
El Presidente
Has involuntary form of charm ability. Terrance was voted president of a
small country in South America (or perhaps Europe?) but he hasn't heard
about it yet.
Ted Man
No one can explain why, but computers do strange things in his vicinity.
If he asks nicely they sometimes do his bidding, but he constantly has to
watch out for stray thoughts. No one has been able to link TedMan to his
alterego mild-mannered Tedman (perhaps he is able to project an image of
Tedman in the same room as him...by asking the overhead nicely). His
main weakness is being hit by buses (which also seem to steer towards
him for no explainable reason.)
Kos-al Loop
Can identify episode from stardate or just first 0.3 seconds. Has phaser
and tricorder, but they don't really work. What he doesn't realize yet
is his low-grade psionic powers can cause them to function, or maybe other
Star Trek-related effects, but only in emergencies. So far adrenalin
injections have failed to reproduce this phenomenon.
MUD Thing
His main weakness is a severe addiction to MUD's. But they are so firmly
ingrained into his psyche that his subconscious telekinetic abilities
grant him various RPG-related powers, seemingly at random.
Naranman
Is surrounded by SubspaceDepressionField(tm). However he seems to be
immune to its effects and possibly other depression-inducing stimuli.
Pagemaster
The communications expert of CRAFT (Common Room Avengers For Timewasting)
Will develop a paging system that will allow us to be contacted easily and
efficiently, with a vibrate option for potentially embarrassing situations.
Speaker of Powerwords
Despite her name, her true power comes from her eyes. May be able to
plant hypnotic suggestions. Her ability to divine salad prices with a
glance may eventually develop into a form of extra-sensory appraisal.
Dr. Science
Has tremendous mental shields against mind-control and brainwashing, due
to extended periods of staying in the Common Room without learning about
computers. Being the science fanatic, she may be prone to making the
wacky inventions necessary for some superhero teams :)
Chia Chin
Chia's bizarre metabolism allows him to quickly grow facial hair to
excessive lengths. By carefully controlling the amount and direction
of growth he can change his beard into different shapes. He once joined
the Mighty Morphin' Coiffeur Rangers because of similar interests, but he
chose to seek his own destiny alone. Also he wanted a cool supername
(see below).
Vacuum Man (or Straw Man)
One fine summer's day, a freak wormhole opened up at the exact time Kaz
said "That movie sucks." Ever since then, when he says that something
sucks, it tends to come true. No plausible mechanism for his power has
been found. Some hypothesize that when he utters those words, he causes
the universe to shift to a parallel one. In this parallel universe, the
object of interest has always sucked. In any case, thanks to Kaz, all
the Avengers' vacuum cleaners and suction cups work quite well.
Mighty Morphin' Coiffeur Rangers: Julia and Keith
After friends started asking if they'd been dying their hair, Keith and
Julia were amazed one day to discover their hair changing colour right
before their very eyes. After being kicked out of every hairstylist in
town ("It won't stay still!!!"), they decided to form the Mighty Morphin'
Coiffeur Rangers. Now they use their special hair to dazzle and confuse
opponents in their quest to battle crime and cluelessness all in the name
of procrastination. They chose not to pick supernames for themselves
because, hey, who's going to recognize them?
They also have the power to grasp the obvious, but to them that fact is too obvious to mention.
The Omni Twins: Pinky and the Brain
Pinky is so-called not because he is pink, but because of his phenomenal
left pinky finger: it can bend backwards! Whereas most people might have
simply dismissed this as double-jointedness, Pinky interpreted it as being
indicative of his omnipotence. He thinks he can do anything he can think
of, and sometimes he's right. It's just that he doesn't think too much. :).
Fortunately, he's paired up with Brain, who believes he is omniscient. While this is not quite true, he does have the ability to pick up bits of information from those around him. The problem is he does not yet have much control over what bits of information he finds, and often ends up discovering what the victim had for lunch.
The Dynamical Systems Duo: Patman & Noggin
Patman has extensive knowledge of many -ologies and regularly devotes his
study towards learning new ones ("Maybe I can apply my newfound knowledge
of rheology..."). Though he can't quickly learn something as general as
'biology', he can pick up many specific subtopics. The full inventory of
the PatFutilityBelt(tm) is not yet known (even by Patman :), and besides
is usually growing. It is known to contain a Rainy-day Book of Integrals.
Noggin has a vast background in many areas of mathematics [for the sake of balance, this knowledge is deeper than, say, Patman's 'topology'] and can perform mental calculations with great speed. His vest boosts his powers by 20% when in contact with him. Also known as the 'Boy Wonder'.
Patman and Noggin are sometimes called the Dynamical Systems Duo. They have an incredibly sophisticated Patmobile, but neither of them can drive. Instead they have a grad student named Derfla.
